Save a form of payment
To enjoy our inflight menu, you must save a form of payment online or on the app before your flight. We don’t accept credit cards or cash for inflight payments. Make sure you’ve downloaded the latest version of the United app.
How it works
How you save payment depends on what device you’re using. There are a few ways you can do this on united.com or the United app before you get to the airport:
During check-in, you can go to your reservation and enter your credit card information.
After check-in, you can enter your flight and credit card information and then let a flight attendant know that you added your card.
Using your MileagePlus account, you can enter your credit card information and save it to your account, so it'll be available for all future flights. To pay with miles, make sure you add your MileagePlus number to your reservation.
Using the wallet feature in the app, you can enter your credit card information and save it to your account, so it'll be available for all future flights. You can save multiple cards in the wallet.
You can also save a form of payment using PayPal (only for registered PayPal users on select flights).

MileagePlus Premier members may get a free Menu item or alcoholic drink. This is only available on select flights.

Save your card as your primary form of payment and you’ll get 25% back on food, beverages, and Wi-Fi on your flight. To qualify, you must save your card before traveling and your account must be open (not in default).
The 25% comes back in the form of a credit card account statement credit. After your inflight purchases are on your account, the statement credit will show up in 24 hours.
