New United First seat

Over the last two years, we've worked with London-based design firm PriestmanGoode to completely redesign the United First seat for our Airbus fleet and Boeing 737-700 and 757-300 aircraft. As we began the process, we asked for feedback from some of our MileagePlus program members, incorporated it into our seat designs, and in the end chose the seat that they chose.

The new United First seat includes the following features:

  • Wider seat cushions for added personal space
  • An articulating design that cradles you as you recline, along with a six-way adjustable headrest, for a seat that feels like it’s built around you
  • A new, patented tray table with a flip-up mobile device holder that fits more than 200 phone and tablet models, so you can continue enjoying inflight entertainment while using your tray table for a meal or beverage
  • A universal AC power plug, so you can charge your devices on the fly
  • In-arm storage to hold a tablet or laptop during flight
  • A personal water bottle compartment in the center console
  • Double seatback pockets for books, magazines and other personal items

Stay tuned for more information about improvements to our aircraft interiors.

Culinary partnership

United is collaborating with The Trotter Project, a nonprofit organization committed to mentoring and inspiring a new generation of culinary minds, to reimagine United's inflight dining experience.

New food and beverage enhancements on board

The new United Polaris onboard dining experience has arrived. In addition to the menu offerings, every aspect of the dining service — from stemware to serving dishes — has been redesigned to create a memorable, restaurant-quality meal.

As part of our continued dedication to improving our onboard dining, we have made a significant investment in our premium wine program, and are proud to offer award-winning wines that perfectly complement our meal selections. In 2017, we participated in Global Traveler magazine’s 14th annual Wines on the Wing Airline Competition, and received a second Bronze for Best First Class Wines on the Wing, among other accolades. Inflight Wi-Fi and entertainment

We know that staying connected while traveling is important to our customers, so we are adding Wi-Fi service on nearly all of our United mainline aircraft and United Express two-cabin aircraft.

We’ve outfitted over 550 aircraft with our personal device entertainment service, one of our United Private Screening options, which provides access to a library of movies and TV shows that you can watch on a laptop or Apple iOS or Android device. Premium cabins on all of our aircraft offer at least one type of complimentary entertainment: personal device entertainment, seatback on-demand entertainment or DirecTV®.
