Requesting credit to your MileagePlus® account

The process for requesting missing credit varies, depending on what type of flight or purchase the credit is for. Please use the instructions and links below to determine the right process and submit your request.

Travel on United or United Express®

Mileage and Premier qualifying credit (where applicable) should be reflected in your account within 48 hours after travel is completed. If your flight credit has not posted after five days, submit a request for credit using the form at the bottom of the page.

New MileagePlus members may request mileage and Premier qualifying credit (where applicable) for flights completed on United and United Express up to 30 days prior to their enrollment date. For a $50 USD fee, new members may request mileage credit for flights more than 30 days and up to six months prior to their enrollment date. Contact the MileagePlus Service Center to process this request.

Travel on Star AllianceTM member airlines and other partner airlines

For flights on Star Alliance member airlines and other partner airlines, it may take up to 15 days for mileage and Premier qualifying credit (where applicable) to display in your account due to variations in processing times across the wide network of member airlines. If your credit has not been posted after 15 days, submit a request for credit using the form at the bottom of the page. In some instances, additional documents may be required to complete your request. If supporting documents are required, you will be prompted to upload files (.gif, .jpg, .pdf, .png or .tif).

​For ANA-operated flights within Japan that do not have a ticket number, enter "2050000000000" in the ticket number field. If you have any other ticket receipts or boarding passes without a ticket number, please submit a request using the MileagePlus contact form.

Travel on rail partners

It may take up to 15 days for mileage credit from these partners to display in your account. View the full list of other airline partners and information about United's partnership with Amtrak.

If your mileage has not been posted after 15 days, you may submit a request for mileage credit online or by mail.

Online: The preferred and quickest way to submit your request is through the Contact MileagePlus form.

  1. When submitting this form, please make sure you include your:
    • MileagePlus number
    • First and last name, as displayed on your ticket
    • Email address
  2. Select the subject "Mileage Credit"
  3. Attach scanned copies of your ticket receipt(s) and boarding pass(es). Please note: Only the following file types will be accepted: .jpg, .gif, .pdf, .png and .tif. File size should not exceed 1.1 MB.

Contact MileagePlus

By mail: If you are unable to use the MileagePlus contact form, submit your request to the mailing address that corresponds to your country of residence. We require a short note describing the request and containing your contact and travel information, including:

  • MileagePlus number
  • First and last name, as displayed on your ticket
  • Full mailing address
  • Email address
  • Photocopies of your ticket receipt(s) and boarding pass(es)

Non-airline partners

Posting times may vary among our extensive network of non-airline partners. It may take up to eight weeks for non-airline partner mileage credit to be reflected in your account. Please keep your receipts and any other relevant documents until the mileage credit appears on your MileagePlus statement.

Economy Plus® subscriptions

Premier qualifying dollars credit for Economy Plus subscription purchases should display in your account within 48 hours of purchase or gift activation. If you have not yet received credit for an Economy Plus subscription, submit a request for credit. Requests may be submitted up to 12 months after the date of your subscription purchase.

You may request credit for up to four flight segments at one time. Requests may be submitted up to 12 months after the date of your flight.

For United-operated flights, you only need to enter the 13-digit ticket number. If you have more than four flight segments on your itinerary, you need to enter each ticket number.

For flights operated by an airline partner, you'll also enter the 13-digit ticket number. If the ticket number is available in our system, then the flight information will be presented for you to  submit. If the ticket information is not in our system, you'll need to enter additional information along with the ticket number.

The required information is located on your boarding pass stub and ticket receipt and should be entered exactly as displayed on the document.
