Global Entry Program

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) offers the Global Entry® program to provide expedited processing for pre-approved, low-risk international travelers entering the United States.

Upon returning from international travel, Global Entry-enrolled travelers may bypass the regular passport control line and proceed directly to the Global Entry kiosk. Global Entry program participants can scan a machine-readable passport, U.S. permanent resident card or U.S. visa on the kiosk, place their fingertips on the scanner for fingerprint verification and make a customs declaration. The kiosk issues a transaction receipt and directs the traveler to baggage claim and the exit.

CBP is continuing to expand program eligibility to citizens of other countries. For a list of eligible participants, visit the CBP’s Eligibility for Global Entry page.

Application for enrollment in the Global Entry program is available at the Trusted Traveler Programs (TTP) website. And if you’re a United℠ Explorer Cardmember, you get a $100 Global Entry fee credit every 4 years when you pay with your card.*

The Global Entry application process consists of three steps:

  1. Applicants complete and submit an online application through the TTP website and pay a $100 fee, which covers enrollment in the program for a five -year period
  2. The government reviews the applicant's information while a background investigation is conducted
  3. Applicants undergo an interview with CBP officers at an Enrollment Center in the U.S. before final approval is granted. Applicants can also complete their interview when they land at many major U.S. airports with Enrollment on Arrival, eliminating the need to schedule an appointment. For more details, please visit the CBP Enrollment on Arrival page.

Global Entry is available at many major airports. For additional details about the program, including location information, please visit the U.S. Customs and Border Protection website.
