Creating the best New York/Newark airport experience
Our hub at Newark Liberty International Airport is just a short hop from Manhattan and connects New York to the world, offering hundreds of daily United flights within the U.S. and across the globe. To provide our customers with an experience that fits this global hub, we’ve invested millions of dollars into refreshing our space and adding new features. According to Business Insider, “Newark Airport’s renovation will amaze your eyes.”
These amazing features will be apparent from the moment you arrive at Terminal C, which has a new curbside ticketing counter and a renovated lobby. And to improve the airport screening process, the TSA has added a new state-of-the-art security experience that features automated screening lanes. The new system is designed to help travelers move through security more quickly and efficiently, with more stations for travelers to load bins and conveyor belts that automatically return bins to the front of the security line.
New spaces to dine, work and recharge before your flight
We’ve partnered with OTG, an expert in developing retail and dining spaces for the travel industry, to completely reimagine what an airport terminal should look like.
The terminal renovations include thoughtfully designed elements that enhance both the feel and the functionality of the space, including light fixtures that adjust based on the time of day. Gate areas are updated with custom seating and tables, and several gates feature iPads that customers can use to track their flights and order meals for delivery. MileagePlus members can even use award miles for dining at Newark Terminal C.

Chef-inspired bars and restaurants
Newark now has “the best airport dining options in the United States,” according to the Hollywood Reporter, and The New York Times calls the airport “a culinary oasis.” OTG has worked with some of the most notable chefs in the industry to create restaurants that go beyond typical airport dining, and they also tailored the spaces to help you detach from the activity of the airport, with each restaurant offering unique decor that fits its menu and theme.
A few of the restaurants even have shifting spaces that transform completely from morning to afternoon to offer an even larger variety of food and beverage choices. For example, morning breakfast options near Gates C70 – 99 switch to lunch and dinner eateries — Casciano's Italian Specialties, Custom Burger and Notorious P.I.G. — later in the day.
Whether you’re traveling for business or with your family, there’s a mix of dining options to satisfy everyone. If you’re looking for dining that’s a little lighter on your wallet, there are many affordable and delicious options featuring a wide variety of cuisines, from Mexican to Italian.
Other fantastic Terminal C restaurants include:
- Caps Beer Garden, an Asian-style beer garden from “Top Chef” Dale Talde
- DAILY, a farm-to-terminal concept that changes its menu every day
- Saison, a French bistro imagined by award-winning design firm Rockwell Group
- Wanderlust Burger Bar, a burger oasis from Chef Josh Capon that offers many burger choices and even more beer options
- Little Purse, an Asian fusion-inspired dumpling restaurant also from Dale Talde
Our United Polaris lounge
We've recently opened a brand-new United Polaris® lounge in Terminal C, after security screening between Gates C102 and C120. Customers flying in United Polaris business class are welcome to work or relax in the lounge, with the option to enjoy chef-designed pre-flight dining, shower suites and quiet suites.
