We're always looking for helpful new ways for our customers to use their MileagePlus award miles. One option that we're now offering lets you use your miles to pay for purchases at select restaurants and bars at New York/Newark in Terminal C and at Houston Intercontinental in Terminals C and E.
When you're dining or having a drink at a participating location, simply use the iPad® located at your seat to place your order, then use your miles or a credit card to pay for your purchase.
The upscale restaurants in Newark Terminal C offer various styles of cuisine from well-known chefs. You can use miles at more than 20 restaurants and bars, including Abruzzo Italian Steakhouse, Caps Beer Garden, Vanguard Kitchen, Flora Café, Nonna's Meatball Kitchen, Oeno Wine Bar, Origami, Proof, Salumeria Prima, Riviera, Saison, Vesper Tavern and more.
These high-quality bars and restaurants are brought to you in partnership with OTG, a specialist in providing fresh and creative dining options for the travel industry. Look for additional OTG establishments to be added in the future, and learn more about our improvements at Newark.
In Houston, United and OTG are introducing more than 25 new dining concepts. MileagePlus members can use award miles at four Cibo Express Gourmet Markets in Terminal E to purchase fresh food, health and beauty products, magazines, travel electronics and more. More dining options in Terminals C and E will be added throughout the year.
Wherever there is an order-placing iPad in the terminal, you have the option to use your miles or a credit card to pay for your purchase.
You can choose to scan your boarding pass (paper or mobile) or simply start your order. If you scan your boarding pass, your MileagePlus number and account information will be pulled from your reservation record, and you'll see updates relating to your flight.
Choose the items you'd like to order, and the prices will be displayed in miles and dollars.
Confirm your order and select miles as your form of payment. If you did not scan your paper or mobile boarding pass and would like to use your miles, you can manually enter your MileagePlus account number. You'll also be prompted to enter your password.
We'll send the receipt to the email address associated with your MileagePlus account, and the restaurant will deliver your order to you as soon as it's ready.
You can rest assured that your purchase is secure, and if the iPad is left idle, the app will log you out. As an additional security measure, you will need to enter your MileagePlus password for each purchase.
