*Canadian citizens must enroll in the NEXUS program to get Global Entry benefits.

At the airport

You can use Global Entry at airports around the world to avoid long customs lines. After you land in the U.S. follow the signs to the Global Entry kiosks or use the Global Entry mobile app at select airports. Download the app on your Apple or Android device before entering the Federal Inspection Services area.

Global Entry uses facial recognition to screen its passengers.

CBP deletes the photos of U.S. citizens after 12 hours. Photos of lawful permanent residents and non-U.S. citizens are deleted within 14 days. If you don’t want to provide your biometric information at the airport, you will have to use the regular customs line.

Children, spouses, and travel companions can only use the Global Entry line if they have their own membership.

Other Trusted Traveler Programs

If most of your travel is in the U.S., Mexico, or Canada, one of the other Trusted Traveler Programs (TTP) may be a better fit for you. TSA PreCheck, NEXUS and SENTRI give you access to faster security screening for 5 years. NEXUS and SENTRI cards are also REAL ID-compliant and can be used as identification at U.S. checkpoints.

Earn up to $100 in statement credit when you use your United credit card to pay for TTP application fees.
