The best thing to do in Poland

Discover Poland with flights to Krakow and Warsaw.

Visit Krakow

  • Visit Market Square in Old Town, Europe’s largest medieval plaza. Take in the various architectural styles as you relax in one of the bars or cafes. Visit the Cloth Hall to peruse the many stalls selling handicrafts or visit the upstairs Gallery of 19th Century Polish Painting.
  • Tour the defunct Wieliczka Salt Mines, a 700-year-old underground mine complex. Besides the “Tourist Route” through the mines, you can take the “Pilgrims’ Route” to see religious statues and chapels, or the “Miners’ Route” to see how it was like to work the mines.
  • Explore Wawel Castle, a royal complex that was once home to Polish monarchs. Today, the complex is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and features exhibits such as the jewels and weapons of Polish royalty, as well as the Dragon’s Den, and underground cave connected to the castle.

Visit Warsaw

  • Take in panoramic city views at the Palace of Culture and Science. Built and gifted by the Soviet Union in the 1950s, the social realist-style tower is the tallest building in Poland.
  • View contemporary Polish and global art at Zachęta, the National Gallery of Art. The museum houses work from 20th-century Polish artists and includes everything from sculpture to multimedia installations. Time your visit with a frequent film screening, event or museum talk.
  • Book a tour at Keret House, the narrowest fully-functioning house in the world. This art exhibition is only open to visitors once per month, so plan well in advance.
