The Outperform Recognition Program

Behind every great trip is an airline full of great people. When you receive excellent customer service from an eligible United® or United Express® employee, nominate him or her in United’s Outperform Recognition Program. With just a few clicks on a computer or smartphone, you could have the chance to win award miles or even roundtrip tickets through a random drawing. Meanwhile, the employees who you nominate will be entered into a separate drawing to win up to $25,000 USD.

While the program is in effect, eligible MileagePlus members can nominate up to five eligible employees per nomination period by using the United mobile app, United's mobile website, United’s Facebook page, and as of January 10, 2013, www.unitedhub.com. Submitting nominations is easy. Simply select one of the nomination methods below and make sure you have on hand the last four digits of the employee’s ID number. Note that the Official Rules are available through each nomination option. By submitting the form, you’re agreeing to those Official Rules.

Nominate through the United app

From the main menu of the United app, select More from the list of options. This takes you to the Travel Services screen, where you’ll see Outperform Recognition in the list of services (see Image 1).

Select the arrow, and you’ll be prompted to sign in to your MileagePlus account.

Once signed in, enter your information (see Image 2) and the United employee’s information as provided by that employee (see Image 3). If you are using the latest version of the app, you’ll see a bar code button that allows you to scan the back of the employee’s badge rather than typing in their 4-digit employee number. Select the bar code button and follow the prompts. The employee’s first and last name must be typed in the field. Then type in a brief account of the excellent service you received, and submit your nomination. (Note: “Location or Dept. Code” is optional.)

Nominate through United’s mobile website

The nomination process on United’s mobile website is very similar to the process on the United app. Simply navigate to the Outperform Recognition screen on the United mobile website at https://mobile.united.com and sign in using your MileagePlus account or username, along with your PIN or password. Confirm your profile information, and then fill out and submit the brief nomination form to share the details of your experience.

Nominate through United Hub

To nominate an employee through United Hub, go to www.unitedhub.com, where you’ll see an Outperform module on the right side of the page. Sign in to your MileagePlus account, and the module will refresh with your name and the number of nominations remaining in this nomination period. Note that if you’ve already logged in to the Hub with your Facebook or Twitter account, you’ll still be required to enter your MileagePlus account information to participate in the nomination process.

Click the yellow Enter Nomination button, and the Traveler Information, Employee Information and Service Story fields will appear. Enter the information and click the yellow Nominate button.

Nominate through United’s Facebook page

To nominate an employee using Facebook, go to https://apps.facebook.com/ua_outperform and sign in to your Facebook account. Once you’re on the main page, sign in using your MileagePlus account information (account number or username and PIN or password). After you have filled in the relevant traveler and employee information fields and entered your story, click the yellow Submit Service Story button.

Selection of winners

We’ll randomly select 16 MileagePlus members as winners from the pool of eligible submissions. These MileagePlus members could win two roundtrip United First® tickets for U.S. travel, excluding Alaska and Hawaii, or two roundtrip United Economy® tickets for international travel, or MileagePlus award miles in amounts ranging from 10,000 to 75,000 miles. See the chart below for prize details.

Note: MileagePlus members who reside in certain countries may not be eligible to participate in the prize drawing. See the Official RulesOfficial Rules for details.

Meanwhile, we will hold a separate drawing to select the winning employees. In total, we will give away $125,000 USD in cash prizes for employees during the January 2 – March 31, 2013,April 2 – June 30, 2013, sweepstakes. The grand prize winner will receive $25,000, while 100 employees will each win $1,000.
