For travel agencies located outside of the United States, including Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Canada, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of Palau and the Republic of the Marshall Islands, United Airlines does not pay a base commission for tickets with itineraries originating within the aforementioned markets.

This change applies to tickets, including those booked online, and also applies to:

  • Miscellaneous Charge Orders (MCOs)
  • Prepaid Ticket Advices (PTA)
  • Administrative Service Charges (ASCs)

It does not apply to visit USA (VUSA) fares.

In addition, United is strongly committed to the integrity of its fare structure and is reinforcing both internally and through the travel agency community strict adherence to advance purchase and minimum stay requirements, ticketing time limits, non-refundable clauses, and other requirements and tariff rules.

No UA segments in itinerary

The official United commission policy for other airline segments ticketed on UA 016 stock with no UA segments in the itinerary is zero percent. Any agency that takes a commission on this type of ticketing transaction will receive an administrative debit memo for any commission taken, plus an administrative fee.
