All members can easily use miles for hotel stays and car rentals

CHICAGO, Sept. 29, 2009 – United’s Mileage Plus frequent flyers may now use their miles to book more parts of their trip - a drive and a good night’s sleep - in addition to a flight. Starting today, all Mileage Plus members may use their miles for hotel stays worldwide and car rentals in the United States and Canada.

“Particularly in these economic times, our members say that they want more ways to use their miles and we are responding with our new hotel and car awards,” said Robert Sahadevan, vice president – Mileage Plus. “Using miles for more parts of a trip is another way Mileage Plus is the most rewarding loyalty program.”

Mileage Plus members can enjoy a simple booking process and use their miles today for any available hotel stay or car rental at www.united.com/hotelandcarawards. Searching this site today, a two-night hotel stay in Orlando during the December 2009 holiday time may be available for as low as 20,650 miles. See below, and for complete terms and conditions visit www.united.com/hotelandcarawards.*

Other recently announced opportunities for Mileage Plus members to more easily use their miles include the elimination of last-minute booking fees for award tickets and other previous award sales that reduced the amount of miles required for award tickets in the U.S and several international destinations. In addition to having no blackout dates on United itineraries, United Mileage Plus members have the flexibility to fly any time seats are available using a Standard Award, which does not have any capacity controls.
