| CHICAGO, July 23, 2009 – UAL Corporation (NASDAQ: UAUA), the holding company whose primary subsidiary is United Airlines, today announced that Kathryn Mikells has been named executive vice president of UAL Corporation, and continues in her role as chief financial officer.
Last year, Mikells was named senior vice president and CFO. She is responsible for all corporate finance functions, including treasury and strategic planning, as well as mergers and acquisitions. In her role as executive vice president, she also sits on the Executive Council of UAL Corporation and chairs the corporation’s Risk Tolerance Committee.
“Kathryn is leading the work to build and maintain a strong balance sheet and ensure we are well managing the financial issues and opportunities presented in this business environment,” said Glenn Tilton, UAL chairman, president and chief executive officer. “She and her team have improved our liquidity in a challenging market, having raised more than $600 million so far this year with more work under way.”
