 United Airlines offers 2-for-1** flights to Canada

CHICAGO, June 25, 2009 – United customers wanting to discover a new getaway this summer have had their wishes granted. United is teaming up with the Canadian Tourism Commission to invite customers to enjoy some Canadian hospitality through United’s two-for-one promotion.

This special deal is available for roundtrip travel from United’s hubs in Chicago, Denver, and Washington to Canadian cities served by United, and customers may book their travel by calling United reservations at 1-800-UNITED-1 (1-800-864-8331) and referencing the “Canada offer.”  United will waive the phone reservation fee as part of the promotional offer.

Sample fares for the two-for-one promotion are each way for travel based on required roundtrip purchase by July 5, 2009 and travel between July 9, 2009 and September 30, 2009. **FARE FACTS:Fares are each way based on required roundtrip purchase for United Economy® travel on United Airlines® and United Express® carriers. For tickets purchased at airport ticket counters, additional reservation fee of $30 will apply. For tickets purchased via reservations for the Canada offer only, the reservations fee will be waived. Fees are subject to change without notice. Other restrictions may apply. Fares purchased through other distribution channels may also be higher. Seats are limited and may not be available on all flights/dates.

Purchase Requirements: Tickets must be purchased at least 14 days in advance and ticketed within 24 hours of making reservations but no later than July 5, 2009.  Tickets are valid for travel to
Canada and must be U.S. point-of-sale and U.S. point-of-origin. For every paying passenger one companion can fly for free* (subject to paying any applicable taxes, fees, and charges). Reservations for both passengers must be booked in the same PNR and tickets must be issued at the same time for the same itinerary, class of service, flights and dates. Tickets can be booked and ticketed by United reservations by calling 1-800-United-1 or by any travel agency in the United States. Offer cannot be booked or ticketed on united.com.


Travel Days/Dates: Fares are valid daily for travel from July 9, 2009 - September 30, 2009.  Fares for some departure dates may be higher. The paying passenger and companion must travel together with no exceptions.

 

Combinability: This offer is not combinable with any other offers or discounts.

 

Stopovers: Stopovers are not permitted.


Blackout Dates:   None.

Min./Max. Stay:   Fares require a 2-night minimum stay and a 30-day maximum stay is permitted.

*Additional Taxes/Fees: Paying and companion tickets are both subject to applicable taxes, fees and charges. Fares do not include a $3.60 per flight segment tax. A flight segment is defined as one takeoff and one landing. Fares do not include the September 11th Security Fee of $2.50 per enplanement at a U.S. airport or Passenger Facility Charges of up to $18, which may be collected depending on the itinerary. For travel from  Canada, fares do not include U.S. Inspection fees of $8, taxes/fees imposed by the Canadian Government of up to $19.50, and a $32.20 international departure and arrival tax if outside of the 225 mile buffer zone.


Itinerary Changes: Tickets are non-refundable. No changes may be made after ticketed departure date for any portion of the ticket. Tickets whose reservations are cancelled prior to the ticketed departure date are valid for travel one year from the original issuance date for a service charge of $150. Changes made to the paying passenger ticket on or before departure are subject to fare rules and a service charge of $150. Changes made after ticketing may result in the free ticket being invalid and/or subject to additional charges/fees. If a reservation is not cancelled before the ticketed departure date, the ticket has no value.
