Celebrate New Service from Denver with Low Fares, Bonus Miles

Denver, March 12, 2008 – Open Skies is bringing United’s Denver customers about two and a half hours closer to London. Customers will save at least that much time by taking United’s new, non-stop service between Denver and London, and the airline is now offering special, low fares and up to 7,500 bonus Mileage Plus miles to celebrate.

Sample fares to London are each way and are based upon required roundtrip purchase by March 26, 2008 with travel beginning by May 15. The introductory sale is for travel Monday through Wednesday for tickets purchased on United from the U.S. See below or visit united.com for complete terms and conditions.  Sample fares include the following:

  • $285 – Colorado Springs, Colo.
  • $285 – Denver, Colo.

United’s new   Denver-London service is now possible with   the new Open Skies agreement between the U.S. and Europe that removes the regulatory barriers to fly to London Heathrow. The agreement between the U.S. and European Union was signed on March 22, 2007 and takes effect March 30, 2008.

FARE FACTS: Fares are each way based on required roundtrip purchase for United Economy® travel on United Airlines®, TedSM, Lufthansa, and United Express® carriers. Tickets purchased through United reservation offices are $15 per ticket higher and tickets purchased at airport ticket counters are $20 per ticket higher.  Fares purchased through other distribution channels may also be higher.  When purchasing from United, always go to united.com to find United's lowest fares.  Seats are limited and may not be available on all flights/dates.

Purchase Requirements: Tickets must be purchased at least 7 days in advance and ticketed within 24 hours of making reservations, but no later than 3/26/08.  Sale fares apply to U.S. and Canada point-of-sale only. Reservations and ticket purchases on united.com must be completed simultaneously.

Travel Days/Dates:   Fares are valid for travel on Mon-Wed, with outbound travel between 3/30/08-5/15/08.  Fares for other days of the week are higher.

Blackout Dates:  None.

Min./Max. Stay:   Fares require a Saturday night minimum stay, and a maximum stay of 30 days is permitted.

Additional Taxes/Fees:   U.S./Puerto Rico/U.S. Virgin Islands fares do not include a $3.50 per flight segment tax.  A flight segment is defined as one takeoff and one landing.  Fares do not include the September 11th Security Fee of $2.50 per enplanement at a U.S. airport or Passenger Facility Charges of up to $18, which may be collected depending on the itinerary.  Fares for Hawaii and Alaska do not include a $7.70 (each way) departure tax.  For travel from Canada, fares do not include U.S. Inspection fees of $7, taxes/fees imposed by the Canadian government of up to $19.50, and a $30.20 international departure and arrival tax if outside of the 225 mile buffer zone.   All international fares are subject to U.S. arrival and departure taxes and agricultural, immigrations and customs fees of up to $50.  For travel to some countries, additional airport, transportation, embarkation, security, and passenger service taxes/surcharges of up to $175 will apply depending on destination.  For return travel from some countries, fares do not include airport and/or departure taxes of up to $45, which may be collected by the foreign government.

Itinerary Changes. U.S. and Canada tickets are non-refundable.  No changes may be made after ticketed departure date for any portion of the ticket.  Tickets whose reservations are cancelled prior to the ticketed departure date are valid for travel one year from the original issuance date for a service charge of $200.  Changes made on or before departure are subject to fare rules and a service charge of $200.  If a reservation is not cancelled before the ticketed departure date, the ticket has no value.

Bonus Miles Terms & Conditions:

To qualify for this offer, members must register and purchase and complete one paid qualifying roundtrip or two each-way nonstop transatlantic segments between Denver (DEN) and London (LHR) on United® operated flights UA948 and UA939 within the following ticketing and travel periods.  For this offer, a roundtrip is defined as travel from an origin city to a destination city with return travel beginning in the outbound destination city back to the first origin city with all segments on United®, United Express® or TedSM; a segment is defined as one takeoff and one landing.   

 

You will earn 7,500 bonus miles for purchasing and flying published United First (F,P or A fares); 5,000 bonus miles for United Business (C or D fares); 3,000 bonus miles for United Business (Z fares) or United Economy (Y,B,M or H) fares or 1,500 bonus miles for United Economy (Q,V,W or S) fares.
