United Expands Service with 15 New North American Routes in Time for Summer Travel

United will offer service from Chicago, Denver, Honolulu, Los Angeles and Washington-Dulles


CHICAGO, March 8, 2006 – United today announced 15 new North American routes for customers in time for summer travel.  Seven of these new destinations will be served by United Express®' regional jet service, explusSM, which offers the most premium seats of any regional jet carrier, including the amenities of United First® and the extra legroom of Economy Plus®.  Tickets go on sale this week.

 

The routes provide new or additional service to Vancouver, British Columbia; Halifax, Nova Scotia; Toronto, Ontario; St. George, Bermuda; Honolulu; Idaho Falls and Boise, Idaho; Bozeman, Missoula and Billings, Mont.; Cincinnati, Ohio; Redmond, Ore.; and Jackson Hole, Wyo.

 

"We’re pleased to offer even more destinations and air travel options for our customers -- just in time for summer vacation," said Kevin Knight, vice president-Resource Planning.  "With these new routes United continues to strengthen its global network and provide new service to meet customer demand."

 

The explus service offers complimentary premium snackboxes for United First customers on select flights, full-sized leather seats throughout, large overhead bins, spacious cabins, and, whenever possible, jet bridge access.  Beginning June 8, 2006, this service will be available between the following cities:

  • Denver - Toronto, Ontario (daily)
  • Denver - Cincinnati, Ohio (daily)
  • Washington-Dulles - Cincinnati, Ohio (daily)
  • Washington-Dulles - Halifax, Nova Scotia (daily)
  • Chicago - Bozeman, Mont. (seasonal daily)
  • Chicago - Missoula, Mont.* (seasonal weekend)
  • Chicago - Billings, Mont.* (seasonal weekend)

 

Also, beginning June 8, 2006, United will expand its service between the following cities:

  • Denver - Idaho Falls, Idaho (twice daily service on United Express)
  • Denver - Redmond, Ore.* (seasonal weekend service on United Express)
  • Chicago - Jackson Hole, Wyo. (seasonal daily service on United)
  • Washington-Dulles - St. George, Bermuda (Tue., Thurs. and Sat. seasonal service on United)
  • San Diego - Honolulu* (seasonal weekend service on United)
  • Seattle - Honolulu* (seasonal weekend service on United)

 

In addition, beginning May 4, 2006, United will expand its service between the following cities:

  • Los Angeles - Boise, Idaho (twice daily service on United Express)
  • Washington-Dulles - Vancouver, British Columbia (daily service on United)

 

Customers will earn 1,000 bonus miles every time they purchase qualifying travel at united.com, which also offers the guaranteed lowest United fares.  Customers can also earn 500 bonus miles each time they check in for a United flight using EasyCheck-in Online** at united.com by June 30, 2006.  Both of these bonus mile offers enable customers to earn an additional 2,000 miles per flight.

United.com EasyCheck-In online requirements: Check in between 1 and 24 hours prior to your scheduled departure. Travel on a United, Ted or United Express flight. Travel within the U.S including Alaska, Hawaii, San Juan, Puerto Rico, or St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.

EasyCheck-In Online restrictions: International (inbound and outbound); Certain flights with special service requests like wheelchair, unaccompanied minor, oxygen, firearm, etc.; Tickets with E-ticket mismatch; Tickets with Service charges due; Groups /passenger on a group ticket; IROP tickets.

Other Conditions: Combinable with other offers. Offer may be earned 10 times up to a maximum of 5,000 miles. No registration is required. Offer valid for travel on paid tickets only and cannot be earned for travel on award tickets. Valid on United, United Express and Ted flights. Bonus valid for checking in on united.com only. Must check in using Mileage Plus Number. Bonus not valid for check in outside of domestic united.com site. Bonus is in addition to paid flight miles and any applicable elite and class-of-service bonuses.
