Flying to China for nearly 20 years, United has continued to strengthen its leadership in the market
Chicago, June 14, 2005 – As the first U.S. airline to launch nonstop service between China and the United States, United (OTCBB: UALAQ.OB) today commemorates its 3,888,888th passenger to fly from China to the United States.

To celebrate this historic event, United held a special ceremony at the boarding gate in the Beijing Capital International Airport this morning. Jiang Zonghui is the 3,888,888th passenger who boarded United Flight 888 from China to the United States. Zonghui received an award certificate and a Mileage Plus Premier membership card containing 388,888 bonus miles. The awarded miles can be used to redeem roundtrip United First Class, United Business Class or United Economy class tickets for travel on any United, Ted, United Express or Star Alliance partner.
United is the largest trans-Pacific international airline, offering more flights between the 50 United States and the Asia-Pacific region than any other airline. United also provides the most frequencies of non-stop flights between China and the United States with four daily flights, including Beijing - San Francisco, Beijing - Chicago, Shanghai - San Francisco and Shanghai - Chicago. With its Asia Pacific-based Star Alliance partners All Nippon Airways, Singapore Airlines, Asiana, Thai Airways and Air New Zealand, United provides customers with access to virtually all points in the region. Nagoya is the third Asian city to which United has introduced nonstop service from San Francisco in the past year; the airline launched nonstop service to Beijing in June and one-stop service to Ho Chi Minh City in December. United currently flies more than 2,000 customers between China and the U.S. every day. This summer United added nonstop daily service from San Francisco to Nagoya, Japan.
