United Airlines Adds Second Daily Washington Dulles-São Paulo Flight

Enhanced service leverages Star Alliance network

Chicago - Beginning Oct. 31, 2005, United is scheduled to offer customers additional daily nonstop service between its airport hub at Washington Dulles International Airport and Varig's hub, São Paulo Guarulhos International Airport in Brazil. 

"Our service expansion builds on the success of our existing daily flight to São Paulo from Dulles," said Graham Atkinson, United's senior vice president of Worldwide Sales and Alliances.  "Varig and the Star Alliance network enable us to meet a growing demand for our award-winning service among our business, government and leisure customers traveling to and from Brazil.  This additional flight also enhances our international presence at Dulles and affirms our long-standing commitment to the U.S.-Brazil market."

Both Washington Dulles-São Paulo flights are timed to maximize convenience and connections at both Washington Dulles and São Paulo, and will be operated with B767-300 aircraft, configured with United First® 10 seats, 32 United Business® seats, 71 seats in Economy Plus® and 80 seats in United Economy®.

Flights opened for sale on April 2. 

Varig is Brazil's largest carrier and has the most extensive service of all Star Alliance carriers in South America.
