Additional Summer Frequencies to Hawaii, Mexico, and the Caribbean
New Seasonal United Express Service from Chicago to Rapid City, S.D.
CHICAGO, March 17, 2005 – Beginning June 7, 2005, United, Ted and United Express will offer customers new service and additional summer frequencies from its hubs to warm weather destinations throughout Mexico, the Caribbean, the Hawaiian Islands and the mainland.*
United Express also will add nonstop daily summer seasonal service to Rapid City, S.D.
“The sun destination service we announced in December has proven to be so popular with customers that we’re continuing it through the summer months,” says Greg Taylor, United’s senior vice president of Planning. “We are growing in the Hawaiian markets to meet the strong demand we see to the Islands and adding service to Ted and United Express destinations that are popular with our customers.”
Hawaii
United offers more daily flights from the mainland to Hawaii than any other carrier. This summer, United will be increasing from four to five daily flights in both the Los Angeles-Honolulu and San Francisco-Honolulu markets,. United also is continuing its unique, nonstop service from Chicago to Maui with continuing service to Kona; the flight then returns nonstop to Chicago. United offers the only nonstop flight from Kona to Chicago. In addition, United’s San Francisco-Maui service will increase from three to four daily flights.
Caribbean
United customers destined for the Caribbean now have additional summer nonstop options from the Midwest and East Coast. United is offering both daily Denver-Cancun and daily Washington Dulles-Cancun flights. From its hometown hub in Chicago, United will serve both Cozumel and Aruba three times a week. Flights between Washington Dulles and Aruba will be offered twice a week.
Mexico
To better serve Mexico, United also is adding a second daily flight between Mexico City and Los Angeles. The new Los Angeles arrival is timed to enable customers to connect easily to United’s unparalleled service to Asia. Also, Ted will provide service from Denver and San Francisco to the Mexican beach destinations of San Jose del Cabo and Puerto Vallarta, with four flights per week to each destination.
United Express
To serve summer travelers to Mount Rushmore, the Black Hills and the Badlands, United Express is launching one daily nonstop flight between Chicago and Rapid City, S.D. No other airline serves Chicago-Rapid City nonstop.
