United Express introduces daily nonstop service from San Antonio to San Francisco and Los Angeles with regional jets featuring First Class and Economy Plus.
CHICAGO, January 13, 2005 – On April 3, 2005, United Express introduces daily nonstop service between San Antonio, Texas, and United's hub airports in San Francisco and Los Angeles. The new service includes a daily roundtrip flight between San Francisco and San Antonio, providing the only non-stop service between these two cities. Also, United Express will operate a daily flight between Los Angeles and San Antonio, increasing service options for customers flying this route. Both flights now are open for sale.
"Our new United Express service increases options for customers traveling from San Antonio to the West Coast, and both flights provide key access to all of our west coast, Hawaii and Asia-Pacific destinations," says Sean Donohue, vice president of Ted and United Express. "We currently offer our customers flights from San Antonio to Chicago O'Hare and Denver, and we are pleased to expand service between this popular destination city and our West Coast hubs."
United Express carrier SkyWest Airlines will operate the new service with two-class regional jets with six First Class seats, and 28 Economy Plus® seats and 32 Economy seats. United is the first airline to introduce First Class and the extra legroom of Economy Plus seating together with our United Express regional jet fleet.
In addition to launching the new San Antonio routes, United has increased the number of seats available on its San Francisco-Austin, Texas, route to meet customer demand -- now operating the flight with a 120-seat Airbus A319 instead of a regional jet.
