Third Flight Between Washington Dulles and Oakland Also Added
CHICAGO, March 18, 2004 - United Airlines (OTCBB: UALAQ.OB) today announced that it plans to reinstate daily non-stop service from its hub at Washington/Dulles International Airport (IAD) to Sacramento, California (SMF), and add a third daily non-stop flight from Washington/Dulles to Oakland, California, both effective June 3, 2004.
The Washington/Dulles - Oakland flight is available for immediate booking; the Washington/Dulles - Sacramento flight will be available for booking on Saturday, March 20, 2004.
"We are excited to once again offer non-stop service from Washington/Dulles to Sacramento and increase our flying between Washington/Dulles and Oakland," said Kevin Knight, vice president of Resource Planning. "United offers more flights from Washington/Dulles to California than any other airline, and more flights out of Dulles overall, allowing customers more choice and more convenience on their way to the Golden State."
The Washington/Dulles - Sacramento service will use Airbus A320s with 138 seats, configured with 12 seats in United First® and 126 seats in United Economy®. Service from Sacramento will depart at 8:55 a.m. and arrive in Washington at 4:45 p.m. From Washington/Dulles, the flight will depart at 5:35 p.m. arriving in Sacramento at 8:10 p.m.
The additional Washington/Dulles - Oakland flight, also using an Airbus A320, will depart Oakland at 12:35 p.m. and arrive at Washington/Dulles at 8:25 p.m. From Washington the flight will depart at 9:25 p.m. and arrive at Oakland at 12:10 a.m.
In addition to Sacramento and Oakland, United flies transcontinental service from Washington/Dulles to San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose, Portland, Seattle, Las Vegas, and Phoenix. United currently operates 259 flights a day out of Washington/Dulles.
