You can earn Nileage Plus® miles when you fly on any of the Star Alliance® airlines. In addition, the flight miles you earn qualify toward Mileage Plus elite status. For each mile you fly on a Star Alliance partner airline, you will earn one Elite Qualifying Mile (EQM) and for each segment you fly on qualifying fares, you will earn Elite Qualifying Segment (EQS).
Follow these tips and you'll be on your way to earning some of the most exciting Mileage Plus reawards including award travel and elite status on United and all of the Star Alliance airlines.

Provide your Mileage Plus number every time you book travel on a Star Alliance airline. When you check in for your flight verify that your Mileage Plus number is in your record. Your Mileage Plus number should appear on your boarding pass. If your Mileage Plus number is on file for your flight, the miles you earn will automatically posted to your account shortly after you complete your travel.
Save your passenger receipts and boarding passes. If your miles do not get posted into your account, you can go online to request your past flight miles. For most of our partners you can request mileage credit up to 12 months after your flight.
Find out how many miles you will earn for each flight using the Star Alliance airline link on the right side of this page. Each airline partner has a different Milleage Plus earning scheme listed on its page.
