What is a travel waiver?
When bad weather or another event is expected to cause large-scale travel disruptions in a particular city or region, United will often issue a travel waiver in advance of the storm or event. Travel waivers allow our customers to make changes to their ticketed itineraries in advance, without incurring the fees that would otherwise apply, in order to avoid the possibility of encountering long delays at the airport. What to do if your travel is covered by a waiver
For waiver-eligible itineraries, we recommend that you reschedule your travel as soon as possible.

If your flight has been canceled, you may already have been rebooked on another flight. Please visit the My Reservations page to see if you have been rebooked.

If you have not yet checked in for your flight and you have not been automatically rebooked, even if your flight has not yet been canceled, you may be able to reschedule your travel through My Reservations. To do so, select View/Modify next to the appropriate reservation and then select the "Change itinerary" link.

If you have already checked in for your flight, you must cancel your check-in before trying to rebook through My Reservations. You may cancel your check-in through EasyCheck-in OnlineŽ or mobile check-in.

If you find that you are unable to change your reservation online, you may rebook your travel by calling United Reservations or the agency that originally booked your ticket.

Please check the status of your flight
We strongly recommend checking your flight status before going to the airport.
