United on Oct. 29, 2002, inaugurates service between Washington, D.C., (Dulles) and both Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Buenos Aires, Argentina, becoming the first U.S. carrier to offer nonstop service between the U.S. capital and South America. The flights also give cargo customers the only nonstop service between Washington, D.C., and deep South America.
