Reservation change policy for Tropical Storm Emily waiver

United, United Express, and United code-share flight segments are covered under the policy.

Customers currently en route:
  • May make one change to their return trip. Rules and restrictions regarding standard change fees, advance purchase, day or time applications, blackouts, and minimum or maximum stay requirements have been waived. New itinerary can be same cities as ticketed. Must be in the same booking class as ticketed.
  • Revised travel must be completed by October 6, 2011.

Customers who have not begun travel (wholly unused tickets):

  • May make one change to their travel plans without change fees or advance purchase requirement for the *same* itinerary. New itinerary can be same cities as ticketed. Must be in the same booking class as ticketed. Changes must be made by October 6, 2011.
  • For a *new* itinerary, one change may be made anytime within ticket validity without change fees.

Customers with a canceled flight (i.e., the flight is not operating) are eligible for a full refund.

  • Refunds are permitted for processing to the original form of payment and must be requested from United Airlines. Go to www.united.com/refunds and submit the refund form.
  • Policies also apply to consolidator, internet tickets, and Mileage PlusŪ award tickets.

United will monitor the situation and adjust ticketing policies as necessary.
