Our corporate employee volunteer program is designed to encourage and promote community service. This program was established as the result of a cross-functional employee task team to support our corporate commitment to community service.
The goal of the program is to recognize employees and retirees who have demonstrated a passion for serving the community through volunteerism.
The United Airlines Foundation awards $50,000 in grants each year for community service completed in the previous year as follows:
- 45 grants of $1,000 are awarded to organizations based on valid applications received from eligible employees and retirees
- The Chairman’s Award for Excellence in Community Service - a grant of $5,000 - is awarded to an organization in recognition of the individual who exhibited the most compassion, outstanding and dedicated service, energy and commitment to a community cause
