After School Matters
After School Matters (ASM) is a nonprofit organization that partners with the City of Chicago, the Chicago Public Schools, the Chicago Park District, the Chicago Public Library, the Chicago Department of Children & Youth Services, and Community-Based Organizations to expand out-of-school opportunities for Chicago teens. We are proud to support ASM programs where Chicago teens can safely take part in activities that offer positive relationships, skills that translate to the workplace, and exposure to career and educational opportunities both in their neighborhoods and throughout the city. One of United's leaders also serves on the After School Matters Board of Directors.


Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago
The mission of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Chicago is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. As the Exclusive Airline Sponsor of fundraising events throughout the year, we are proud to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago in their work to aid the young people of Chicago. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago works to build youth character and leadership, enhance education and career opportunities and expose youth to the arts, fitness and recreation.


Big Brothers Big Sisters Colorado
The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado is to help children reach their full potential through professionally supported, one-to-one, volunteer mentoring relationships. Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame
The Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame honors sports legends by raising funds to benefit youth program sports. These fundraising efforts enable the organization to provide youth groups with much needed sports equipment and uniforms. We are proud to serve as the official airline of the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame. In addition, the United terminal at San Francisco International Airport is home to the busts and bios of the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame members.


Big Shoulders Fund
We are proud to partner with the Big Shoulders Fund in its mission to provide support to the Catholic schools in the neediest areas of inner-city Chicago. 100% of the funds raised by the Big Shoulders Funds are used to support children through scholarships, special education programs, instructional equipment, much needed school facility improvements, faculty support, and operating grants.


Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago

JobTrain is the life-changing nonprofit organization known to the community for 42 years as Opportunities Industrialization Center West. Their purpose is to change the lives of people in their community through education, attitude and job skills training, career placement, and youth and child development. Junior Achievement of Chicago
Junior Achievement of Chicago has been providing quality economic education programs for more than 65 years and has reached nearly three million students in the greater Chicago metropolitan area with hands-on learning experiences that provide students with relevant economic education programs and help them aspire to be tomorrow's leaders. Latin American Educational Foundation
The Latin American Educational Foundation (LAEF) advances the educational leadership and economic status of all Hispanics to improve the greater community. It exists to provide access to higher education for Hispanics throughout Colorado. Since its inception in 1949, LAEF has awarded more than 5,200 scholarships and is the preeminent source in providing educational funding to Colorado's Hispanic college students. We are proud to be the Official and Exclusive Airline of this organization and support the organization in its mission.


National Runaway Switchboard

National Runaway Switchboard works around the clock to help keep America's runaway and at-risk youth safe and off the streets. The organization serves as the federally designated national communication system for runaway and homeless youth. We are a longstanding sponsor of the organization, which annually holds an awards celebration called the “Spirit of Youth Awards” during November, National Runaway Prevention month.


Organization of Black Airline Pilots (OBAP)
The Organization of Black Airline Pilots is dedicated to advancing and enhancing the participation of blacks and other minorities in the aviation industry, especially as pilots. OBAP has focused its greatest emphasis on preparing young people to realize a successful future and highlight the exciting potential available in aviation. Providence St. Mel School
At Providence St. Mel, educators, students, and their parents believe they have the right to dream and that they have a responsibility to use their talent, discipline and integrity to take this place, this time, and this people, and make a better place, a better time, and a better people. The Renaissance Schools Fund
The Renaissance Schools Fund is an independent nonprofit organization that serves as the partner in the fundraising, strategy and accountability for Renaissance 2010, a bold initiative to transform the Chicago Public School system by creating 100 new public schools to provide all families with high-quality educational options. We have been a sponsor of this groundbreaking program since its inception.


Starlight Starbright Colorado
Starlight Starbright Colorado helps seriously ill children and their families cope with their pain, fear and isolation through entertainment, education and family activities. We are proud to serve as the Official Airline of Starlight Starbright Colorado and support them in their efforts to touch the lives of a sick child and family all along their journey.


United's Career Flights for the School of the Arts at South Shore High School
Partnering with the School of the Arts at South Shore High School, a public high school on Chicago's South Side, we established an internship program entitled United's Career Flights for the School of the Arts. We aim to give students a meaningful professional work experience and to provide them with a foundation for what it takes to be successful in the workplace. Students at the school are invited to participate in the program based upon a rigorous selection process, including the completion of a program application, the development of an essay and participation in a panel interview.


Youth Guidance
Youth Guidance creates and implements school-based programs that enable at-risk children to overcome obstacles, focus on their education and, ultimately, to succeed in school and in life. We are proud to support this program.
