Travel advisory - waiver issued due to Midwest: storms

Winter storms are expected to cause cancellations and delays in the Northeast.  To support and serve our customers better, United Airlines is offering advice for customers traveling through the following areas:

To, from, or through:
Connecticut Maine Massachusetts
New Hampshire New Jersey New York
Pennsylvania Rhode Island Vermont

The following cities in Canada are also included:
Montreal Ottawa Toronto

Dates and regions covered
Traveling on February 29 through March 1, 2008:
(with tickets purchased on or before February 29, 2008)

United strongly encourages you to check the status of your flight before leaving for the airport.

You can check flight status online or by calling 1-800-UNITED-1 (1-800-864-8331) for automated, up-to-the-minute flight arrival and departure information. To receive automatic updates via mobile phone, email or pager, register for United's EasyUpdate service. If you would like to re-book your travel, do so by using our EasyCheck-in Online service, or by contacting your travel agent or United Reservations at the phone number listed above.

Summary of revised ticket policy changes
All United®, United Express®, TedSM and United code-share flights are covered under the policy.

Changes must be made within 7 days of original departure date.

Customers currently en route:
  • May make one change to their return trip. Rules and restrictions regarding standard change fees, advance purchase, day or time applications, blackouts, and minimum or maximum stay requirements have been waived. Origin and destination cities must remain the same.
  • Revised travel must be completed within 7 days of original travel date.
Customers who have not begun travel (wholly unused tickets):
  • May make one change to their travel plans without change fees or advance purchase requirement for the same itinerary. Original booking code must remain the same.
  • For a new itinerary, one change may be made without change fees.
  • All rescheduled travel may be subject to higher fares if it does not meet original rule and booking code restrictions or is a new itinerary.
Customers with cancelled flights are eligible for a full refund.

Policies also apply to Mileage Plus, consolidator and internet tickets.

United will monitor the situation and adjust ticketing policies as necessary.
