New ID check for passengers traveling to/from/within Canada
Beginning June 18, 2007, passengers traveling to/from/within Canada who appear to be 12-years-old or older must present a valid ID prior to boarding a flight at any Canadian airport.

This new requirement is part of a new Passenger Protect Program created by Transport Canada (the equivalent of the U.S.’s TSA).

Passengers who appear to be 12-years-old flying to/from Canada on any United flight will go through a second ID screening at the boarding gate to comply with the new Transport Canada mandate.
