Around the World Sweepstakes Official Rules
NO PURCHASE REQUIRED TO ENTER OR WIN. RESIDENTS OF THE U.S.WHO ARE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OF AGE AT TIME OF ENTRY ARE ELIGIBLE TO ENTER AND WIN. VOID IN CANADA, PUERTO RICOAND WHERE PROHIBITED.

1. ELIGIBILITY: The united.com Around the World Sweepstakes (the "Promotion") is open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States (including the District of Columbia) who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees of United Air Lines, Inc., UAL Corporation, UAL Loyalty Services, Inc., and their affiliates or subsidiaries, ePrize, LLC, as well as the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings and children) and household members of each such employee are not eligible. Subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Void in, Canada, Puerto Rico and where prohibited.

2. SPONSOR: The Promotion is sponsored by United Air Lines, Inc., 1200 East Algonquin Road, Elk Grove Township, IL 60007 ("Sponsor").  

3. AGREEMENT TO OFFICIAL RULES: Participation in the Promotion constitutes entrant's full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor, which are final and binding. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.

4. TIMING: The Promotion begins on June 15, 2004, at 11:01 p.m. Central Standard Time ("CST") and ends on June 20, 2004, at 10:50 p.m. CST (the "Promotion Period").

5. HOW TO ENTER: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Purchase a United Airlines ticket from any authorized United Airlines travel distributor, originating to or from Washington Dulles IAD, Washington Reagan DCA, or Baltimore BWI. Multiple tickets purchased at the same time will constitute a single transaction.  After you complete the purchase and your payment is validated, you will receive one (1) entry into the Promotion.  If you wish to enter without making a purchase you may do so by sending an email containing your first name, last name, complete mailing address and telephone number to unitedaroundtheworld@eprize.net.  For each valid email which contains all of the required information you will receive one (1) entry into the Promotion. Sending more than the allowable number of email entries will result in the voiding of all of the entries for that individual.  Limit: three (3) entries per person or email address each day during the Promotion Period by any method or combination of methods of entry. For all entries: All entries must be received during the Promotion Period. Proof of entry submission will not be deemed to be proof of receipt by Sponsor and Sponsor is not responsible for lost, delayed or failed email attempts. In the event of a dispute as to any entry, the authorized account holder of the email address used to enter will be deemed to be the entrant. The "authorized account holder" is the natural person assigned an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted address. The potential winner may be required to show proof of being the authorized account holder.

6. DRAWING & NOTIFICATION OF POTENTIAL WINNER: On or about June 28, 2004, one (1) potential Grand Prize Winner will be selected at random from among all eligible entries received during the Promotion Period. The drawing will be conducted on Sponsor's behalf by ePrize, LLC, an independent judging organization whose decisions as to the administration of the Promotion and the selection of the potential winner are final and binding in all matters related to the Promotion. The potential winner will be notified by email, telephone or registered mail within seven (7) days of the drawing. Except where prohibited, the potential winner must sign and return to Sponsor, within ten (10) days of being notified, an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release in order to claim his/her prize. If the potential winner cannot be contacted within seven (7) days after the first attempt to contact him/her or if he/she fails to sign and return the affidavit and release within the required time period, an alternate entrant will be selected in his/her place at random from among all eligible entries received. Sponsor will attempt to select a winner by the process five (5) times after which, if an eligible winner cannot be verified, the prize will go unawarded.

7. GRAND PRIZE: One (1) Grand Prize Winner will win one (1) Around the World economy class ticket valid for qualifying roundtrip travel on United, United Express or Ted flights wherever United has service. The ticket will be valid for a maximum of 15 stopovers between July 1, 2004 and December 31, 2005. Ticketing must occur by December 24, 2005. Travel must commence from and return to the same country and must be in a continuous global direction either Eastbound or Westbound. Travel must include only one Trans-Atlantic crossing and only one Trans-Pacific crossing. Travel must be booked at least 7 days in advance of departure and include a Saturday night stay.  Passenger may not accrue Mileage Plus miles or earn miles toward Mileage elite Plus status. Passenger is responsible for any applicable taxes, fees, and charges associated with their free ticket. Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”): $5,000. Actual value may vary based on airfare fluctuations and distance between departure and destination.

8. RELEASE: By receipt of any Promotion prize, winner agrees to release and hold harmless Sponsor, ePrize, LLC, each of their respective related companies and each such company's officers, directors, employees and agents (collectively, the "Released Parties") from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Promotion or receipt, redemption or use of any prize.

9. PUBLICITY: Except where prohibited, participation in the Promotion constitutes winner's consent to Sponsor's use of winner's name, likeness, voice, opinions, biographical information, hometown and state for promotional purposes in any media, worldwide, without further payment or consideration.

10. PRIVACY: Sponsor may use entrant's name and address for future promotional and marketing purposes in accordance with its Privacy Policy, available at http://www.united.com/page/article/0,1360,1002,00.html.

11. GENERAL CONDITIONS: Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the Promotion if any fraud, technical failures or any other factor beyond Sponsor's reasonable control impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Promotion, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. In such event, Sponsor reserves the right to award the prize at random from among the eligible entries received up to the time of the impairment. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Promotion or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of the Promotion may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Sponsor's failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.

12. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: The Released Parties are not responsible for: (1) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by entrants, printing errors or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Promotion; (2) technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to the malfunctioning or unavailability of any computer, cable, network, hardware, software, Internet service or web site; (3) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Promotion; (4) technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the Promotion or the processing of entries; or (5) any injury or damage to persons or property, including but not limited to entrant's computer, hardware or software, which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant's participation in the Promotion or receipt, redemption or use of any prize.

13. DISPUTES: Except where prohibited, entrant agrees that: (1) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Promotion or any prize awarded, other than the administration of the Promotion or the determination of winners, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the United States District Court for the District of Michigan (Eastern Division), U.S.A. or the appropriate Michigan State Court located in Oakland County, Michigan, U.S.A.; (2) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Promotion, but in no event attorneys' fees; and (3) under no circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the entrant and Sponsor in connection with the Promotion, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Michigan, U.S.A. without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the State Michigan or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of Michigan, U.S.A.

14. PROMOTION RESULTS: For promotion results and/or a copy of these Official Rules, send a hand-printed, self-addressed, stamped envelope to "united.com Around the World Sweepstakes" Rules/Winners, C/O ePrize, P.O. Box 9052, Farmington Hills, MI 48331-9052. Requests must be received by September 15, 2004. VT residents may exclude return postage.
