When exhausted soldiers return stateside to enjoy time with friends and family, they're transported as far as Baltimore, Dallas-Ft. Worth or Atlanta. After that, it's up to them to pay for travel to their final destinations. To support Operation Hero Miles, United is donating ten million miles to the program.
But you can help, too. When you donate your Mileage Plus Miles to Operation Hero Miles, we'll match your donation mile-for-mile up to an additional five million miles.

A minimum donation of 1,000 miles is required, and donations can't be designated for specific military personnel. Active duty members of the U.S. armed forces stationed in Iraq will be selected by the Combined Forces Land Component Commander (CFLCC) to receive round-trip award tickets.
