Elite members at the Premier® level are entitled to special upgrade privileges and priorities on United.
Regional Upgrades
When you earn 75,000 EQM or 90 EQS, you’ll receive two Regional Upgrades. You’ll receive two additional upgrades at every 25,000 EQM/30 EQS after that in the same calendar year - with no limit to how many you can earn. These versatile upgrades can be used on all domestic routes, including transcontinental p.s.® and Hawaii flights, and to many international destinations. Regional Upgrades are valid for travel within the continental U.S., Hawaii, Alaska, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America.
Unlimited Domestic Upgrades
We'll automatically request an Unlimited Domestic Upgrade on behalf of all elite members traveling within the continental U.S., Hawaii, Alaska, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America. We'll also request an upgrade for up to one companion traveling on the same reservation. The companion may only be confirmed on the day of departure at the airport within two hours of the flight.
Unlimited Domestic Upgrades are confirmed in the following order, as early as the following times before departure:

Mileage Plus Upgrade Awards
If you'd like to confirm your upgrade earlier, you may use a Mileage Plus Upgrade Award. This upgrade can be confirmed as early as you request it-even at the time of ticketing, if available.
As an elite member, you will not be charged a co-pay when you use your miles for a Mileage Plus Upgrade Award on flights within the continental U.S., Alaska and Canada.
