Power outlets
In-seat power outlets are available on United aircraft as described in the chart below. Two different types of power outlets may be available, depending on the aircraft.
- AC 110v power ports – These outlets supply 110v AC power and do not require an adapter. You may use the standard charger for your laptop or other electronic device to plug into AC power.
- EmPower® DC power ports – EmPower outlets supply 15v DC power (up to 75 watts per outlet) and require the use of an adapter. Please note that adapters will not be supplied by United. Travelers may bring their own adapters on board. Only laptops are recommended for use with EmPower DC power ports.
On our transcontinental p.s.® flights—premium service flights between New York's JFK airport and either San Francisco or Los Angeles—every seat features an AC power port, which does not require an adapter.
Please see the chart below to see if in-seat power outlets are provided on your aircraft. In-seat power is available only in first and business class cabins unless otherwise noted.
