Laptop power
United First® and United Business® customers have access to in-seat power outlets on all of our three-cabin Boeing 767, 747 and 777 aircraft. In-seat power outlets are also available to United First customers on select Boeing 757 and Airbus 320 aircraft. Outlets on all of the above aircraft are EmPower® DC power ports, which require an adapter when powering a laptop or any other electronic device.

On our transcontinental p.s.® flights—premium service flights between New York’s JFK airport and either San Francisco or Los Angeles—every seat features an AC power port, which does not require an adapter.

Additionally, all United three-cabin aircraft are being upgraded to International Premium Travel Experience aircraft. These newly retrofitted aircraft will feature an AC power port at each United First Suite and each United Business seat. Adapters are not required for these power ports.

Satellite phone service: international and select domestic flights

Cell phone usage policy
For safety reasons, you may not use your cell phone while the plane is in motion. We do allow cell phone usage prior to the aircraft door closing or with the captain's approval during ground delays.
