United history

United completes deployment of 463 automatic gate readers throughout North America and in Japan, a project that began in 1998 at Chicago O'Hare. The gate readers provide accurate boarding counts, recognize seat duplications before the customer boards the aircraft, identifies customers boarding the wrong flight and greatly reduces the time needed to board customers.
