UAL Corp. relaunches United New Ventures under the name United Loyalty Services (ULS). ULS, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of UAL Corp, will focus on expanding the profitable non-core marketing business of UAL and building customer loyalty for United. By October 2002, ULS owned and operated substantially all United-branded travel distribution and customer loyalty e-commerce activities, such as united.com. It also owned and managed all of UAL's interests in e-commerce enterprises such as Orbitz and Hotwire, and operated United's Mileage Plus frequent flier program, its United Vacations leisure product, Silver Wings Plus for seniors and Cruise4Miles, a program offering Mileage Plus miles for the purchase of cruises.
