United history

United introduced an innovation in customer service with its reaccommodation carts, or "Chariots," shown in action at O'Hare International Airport in Chicago. The lightweight chariots, which were introduced at San Francisco in August 1998, are equipped with wheels, powered by batteries and can communicate by radio waves so they can be positioned anywhere check-in lines are long. The company continues to "roll" out the service tool to its key - and busiest - stations.
